I used to think like that, but now I think bollocks. They don't think about being caught when committing crimes.
There is no worse crime than sexual abuse of a child. It should be mandatory life in prison with no parole for a first offence. Not a soft, nice little sentence for them as a reward for not killing their victim.

There is inconsistency in the sentences handed out when comparing similar crimes. Johnson though should have played ball from the beginning and owned up to everything.

No quibble with Johnson's sentence. Doesn't make sense when compared to others who got similar sentences for much graver offences.

Sniper is right, the length of Johnson's sentence is strange when you consider that some members of the Rochdale sex abuse gang got around the same.
That gang raped, tortured and abused 1,400 young girls, some as young as 12.
I am not suggesting for a moment that Johnson's sentence is inappropriate - he deserves everything he gets - but surely all of those Pakistani paedophile gang members should have gone away for life ?
